As a visual artist, I work across many
disciplines incorporating a wide variety of materials and production
methods. With a background in theatre my work is often temporary,
large-scale, ephemeral, site specific installations that involves
community participation and shared community spaces.
I am influenced by the beauty and extreme qualities of
our environment. As a result my work often focuses on public
intervention landscape art, working with organic materials to create
outdoor installations that will with time disintegrate and return to
the earth.
My hope, in creating this type of work, is that the
identity of a community's culture, nature, history and function is
strengthened and challenged. Also, that the community participants
and viewers experience a shift in their awareness about what is
considered art but also the temporal quality of our lives and our
relationship to the environment.
