IMPORTANT NOTICE

The Richard Larsen Heritage/Antique Museum displays within the Barr Colony Centre are closed until further notice. The building is experiencing ground water seepage. The artifacts and antiques are secure and are not damaged but the building is closed. All other exhibits, including the Imhoff Art Collection, Fuchs Wildlife Display, Oilfield Technical Society Heavy Oil Science Centre and Travelling Exhibition Galleries are OPEN for visitors.

At this time, all BCHCC admissions are discounted by 50%.


 

We are a public art gallery, antique museum, wildlife display, heavy oil science centre and gift shop. The Centre is a fascinating place for relaxation, enjoyment and inquiry—with appeal for all ages—through the diverse exhibitions which include....

Imhoff Art Collection



The Imhoff Gallery and Theatre include a comprehensive collection of paintings by Count Berthold von Imhoff, an artist renowned for his murals in North American churches and public buildings. The Imhoff Collection displays some 250 paintings, portraying religious and historic themes.

 

Fuchs Wildlife Exhibit

The Fuchs wildlife exhibit is believed to be the largest taxidermy exhibit created by one man, in North America. This display features mounted birds, as well as large and small mammals in scenic settings.

 

Richard Larsen Museum (Closed)

The Richard Larsen Museum presents the unique history and artifacts of the Barr Colonists. These settlers from the British Isles homesteaded the Lloydminster region in 1903. Artifacts include agricultural equipment, furniture, and household items. In addition to the museum displays, visit Lloydminster’s first church, a schoolhouse dating from 1906, a furnished log cabin and an old filling station.

 

OTS Heavy Oil Science Centre

The OTS Heavy Oil Science Centre offers an interactive adventure into geology, drilling, refining and the various uses for the region’s heavy oil reserves. Visit this world class interpretive centre and learn about the people who overcame the challenges and pioneered the technology that revolutionized the petroleum industry. Let “Squirt”, the heavy oil droplet, guide you through petroleum discovery!
